MIAMI — LeBron James had 33 points and 13 assists, Chris Bosh added 22 points and the Miami Heat hardly missed Dwyane Wade in a 118-83 rout of the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

James also grabbed eight rebounds and the Heat turned up the defensive intensity without their star guard. Wade sat out with a sore left foot, and his status for Thursday’s game at Atlanta is uncertain.

Roy Hibbert had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead Indiana. Tyler Hansbrough scored 14.

Wade, a six-time All-Star, injured his foot in the second quarter at Charlotte on Dec. 28. He missed the first 10 minutes of the third period but played regular minutes the rest of the game and in the two that followed.


BULLS 99, PISTONS 83

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Richard Hamilton scored 14 points in his return to The Palace from a groin injury, and Chicago shut down Detroit.

Hamilton went 5 of 9 from the field and added five assists. Derrick Rose had 17 points and 10 assists for the Bulls.

Five Chicago players finished in double figures, led by Carlos Boozer with 19 points. Joakim Noah had 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Greg Monroe had 19 points and 13 rebounds for Detroit.

BOBCATS 118, KNICKS 110

NEW YORK — Boris Diaw rebounded from a dreadful game a night earlier with a season-high 27 points, and Charlotte snapped a four-game losing streak with a victory over New York.

Gerald Henderson added 24 for the Bobcats, who capped a three-game road trip by winning for the first time since their opener.

Amare Stoudemire had 25 points and 12 rebounds after missing two games with a sprained left ankle.

Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 32.

MAVERICKS 98, SUNS 89

DALLAS — Dirk Nowitzki scored 20 points in his 1,000th NBA game to lead Dallas over Phoenix.

Jason Terry had 18 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, to help the defending NBA champions (3-4) string together consecutive wins for the first time this season.

Lamar Odom added 15 points in his best game since joining the Mavericks in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 11.

Steve Nash had 15 points and 12 assists for the Suns (2-4).

SPURS 101, WARRIORS 95

SAN ANTONIO — Tony Parker scored San Antonio’s final six points to lead the Spurs past Golden State.

The Spurs were playing their first game without leading scorer Manu Ginobili, who will have surgery on his broken left hand and is expected to be out at least two months. The Warriors, meanwhile, lost Stephen Curry to a sprained left ankle in the third quarter.

Monta Ellis scored 38 points on 15-of-30 shooting to lead Golden State.

Tim Duncan had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs. Richard Jefferson added 17 points.

CELTICS 89, NETS 70

BOSTON — Paul Pierce scored nine of his 24 points during a game-breaking, third-quarter run and Avery Bradley hit his first career 3-pointer to help Boston beat injury-depleted New Jersey.

Reserve Brandon Bass scored 15 and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Rajon Rondo had eight points and 12 assists for the Celtics.

Kevin Garnett had 14 points and 12 rebounds. Bradley finished with 11 points.

MarShon Brooks, making his first career start, led the Nets with 17 points, and Jordan Farmar had 11. New Jersey has lost six straight since a season-opening win at Washington.

Boston guard Ray Allen missed the game due to illness.

RAPTORS 92, CAVS 77

TORONTO — Andrea Bargnani scored 31 points and Toronto beat Cleveland for its second straight win.

DeMar DeRozan added 25 points for the Raptors and Jose Calderon had 13 points and 11 assists.

Antawn Jamison led Cleveland with 19 points. Rookie guard Kyrie Irving added 12.

MAGIC 103, WIZARDS 85

ORLANDO, Fla. — Dwight Howard had 28 points and 20 rebounds, Ryan Anderson added 23 points and 15 rebounds and Orlando ran past winless Washington.

76ERS 101, HORNETS 93

NEW ORLEANS — Jrue Holiday scored 14 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter, leading Philadelphia over New Orleans.

Evan Turner added 21 points and Spencer Hawes scored 17 for the 76ers, who won for the third time during a franchise-record five-game road trip to start the season.

Eric Gordon led New Orleans with 22 points after missing four consecutive games with a bruised knee.

MINNEAPOLIS — Rudy Gay had 19 points and eight rebounds, lifting Memphis over Minnesota in its first game since learning Zach Randolph would be out for six to eight weeks.

O.J. Mayo scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter and Mike Conley had 12 points and eight assists for the Grizzlies. Tony Allen added 20 points.

Kevin Love had 27 points and 14 rebounds and Ricky Rubio added 12 points, 10 assists and four rebounds for the Timberwolves, who missed a chance for their first three-game winning streak since February 2010.

Love became the first player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975 to record 20 points and 12 rebounds in his team’s first six games.

NUGGETS 110, KINGS 83

DENVER — Al Harrington scored 15 points, Rudy Fernandez had 12 points to go with eight assists and Denver won its third straight by beating Sacramento.

Timofey Mozgov and Arron Afflalo added 11 points apiece for the Nuggets, who have won their last six meetings with the Kings in Denver.
